Where the money is spent

The cost of providing the ‘safe house’ is around £15,000 per year.

This includes providing utilities for the property including gas, electricity and water.

Sometimes the women that use the facility arrive in an emergency, and therefore haven’t had much time to pack up their belongings.

We fill the cupboards with food so that the families can be well fed.

We offer books, toys and games for the children to share, as well as films and music for them to enjoy.

We supply toiletries in the bathroom, and clothes where possible.

We try to make the property as comfortable as possible, recognising how frightened and anxious the users often are.

The charity pays for specialist floating support to assist the women in coming to terms with their situation, and helping them to move forward with their lives.
